Peter Vertal of the Institute of Forensic Engineering, Brno University of Technology, Czech Republic has contacted ITAI.

To quote Peter:

I’m student of doctoral study at Institute of Forensic Engineering of Brno University of Technology.

I would like to share with you my videos from measurements of effectiveness of Volvo pedestrian active safety system. This study is part of my doctoral study. Studies was created in collaboration with VSI TU Graz, DSD Dr. Steffan Datentechnik and Institute of Forensic Engineering TU Zilina. Study is important for forensic experts for better understanding and modelling the boundary conditions for activation of the system for court needed.

You can find several videos of testing the Volvo system based on different types of real fatal accidents. The videos will help you to better understand how this system really works not base on standard procedure defined by OEM or EU regulation but base on real fatal accident.

The paper with output of the study going to be published in spring/summer 2015.
