Tim knows how to deal and communicate with insurance companies in a way that regular people could only dream of. After making a claim, I tried to negotiate with my insurers but all I was left with was disappointment, frustration and a deep sense of dread knowing I would need to talk to them again. Until I got Tim (Motor Claim Guru) involved. Not only did I not have to be treated like a second-class citizen by my insurance company, because Tim did all the talking, an agreement was made I was happy with. If I ever have to make a claim again, I won’t be wasting my time talking with insurance companies, I’ll get Tim to do it.

Tim came highly recommended and did not disappoint!
After a lengthy battle trying to claim storage fees from a large insurance company we weren’t getting anywhere at all with them.
They refused to pay us what we were rightfully owed!
A lot of insurance companies are chancing their arm and trying to pull the wool over the customers eyes and fleece us repairers in the process!
Tim got right on their case and laid down in black and white what duties, clauses and regulations they are supposed to honour.
Tim’s expertise and the fact he wont back down got us what we were due.
We are grateful for his services and will now be recommending him to anyone in need.

Having just read some of the other reviews on Tims website I have to say that I’m shocked that so many other people have the same frankly awful and distressing experience with their insurance companies!!! It feels like legalised criminality. But thank God for Tim. After 18 months of trying to get redress for the damage on my car, first directly and then with a solicitor who said that I had no chance if I went to court, and not receiving a penny from Admiral, Tim got a result within a week! They have paid up.
Tim also told me that they will reverse the Category N that Admiral had put on my car. They had never informed me that this has been done…..Thank you Tim

The pleasure is all mine. I love challenging the impossible, I was doubtful as the Admiral had already issued a final response letter nearly two years ago, and you were well outside the timescales for the Ombudsman. However, the law and regulations are still the same, when presented with the evidence, and I had no other option than to issue legal proceedings, they swiftly looked to obtaining the best result for all parties. How to make a car from being a total loss to repairable in one swift communication.

My Proton Saga was unfairly declared a category b write off after an accident that was not my fault and Tim was able to use his expert knowlege and position In the Industry to prove to my Insurance company that the damage to the car was not sufficent enough to warrant such a classification. The pleasure is all ours. I hate to see cars destroyed when they are perfectly usable. I love vehicles that are a little bit quirky,they need to be protected and kept in use. Cars of special interest and classics are exempt from the code. I was aiming to have the categorisation removed completely, but the result obtained was good enough. After 2 years of searching, I recent bought an incredibly rare and immaculate Renault Sport Trophy, only for someone to rear end me exactly a week later. The day after the accident I phoned my insurance company to start a non fault claim. With the accident not being my fault, I thought insurance would be on my side, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. After making my way through the lengthy rigmarole of setting my claim up, I was imminently told my car was going to be written off, despite no one from the insurance company coming to view the car, or even requesting to see a photo of it. Having explained the rarity of the car, I was told a market value report would be completed by an independent assessor, to obtain the market value of my car. I continually told the insurance company that I wasn’t going to accept the car being written off, and wanted it repaired, although this was repeatedly ignored by every person I spoke to. I was told the market valuation would be completed in 24 to 48 hours; however, this took a full 2 weeks. I finally received the report and it was frankly laughable, full of misinformation and using different models from mine as examples of value. The report therefore valued my car at £2500 less than what I had paid for it a week prior to the accident. I phoned up the insurance company and explained that I was not going to accept losing £2500, plus my car a week after having bought it, especially considering how rare it is and how long I spent hunting for it. I was told categorically that there was no way I was going to be paid more than the frankly rubbish valuation they had produced, and again, no way they would repair my car as I had requested. I spent hours going around in circles with them on the phone, arguing to at least let me show them adverts of my actual model that proved they had significantly undervalued my car, but I was told they couldn’t do this. I was having sleepless nights over the situation, and the prospect of losing some of my hard earnt cash, and my car. At this point I came across Motor Claim Guru, and after having read some of the invaluable articles Tim has on the site, I realised how much the insurance company were messing me around. I decided the best thing I could do was to get Tim involved, and I’m so unbelievably glad that I did! Within 24 hours of contacting Tim, my claim was away from the pen pushers that normally deal with your claims, and in front of the company’s directors. Tim got me the chance to prove the value they gave the car was incorrect, and fought with the insurance company to have my car repaired, which they eventually agreed to do. Without a question of a doubt, If Tim hadn’t taken my claim on, I’d have not only lost my car that I spent 2 years looking for, but also £2500. Tim’s knowledge on the subject of insurance and the law surrounding it is fantastic, and he was absolutely relentless throughout in ensuring that he got the right outcome for me. Despite the stress these situations create, it was incredibly refreshing and reassuring to know that someone was fighting my corner and not going to give in.

I really can’t thank Tim enough for the help he provided me, it was fantastic, and I recommend anyone that finds themselves in a similar situation to get in touch with Motor Claim Guru.

THE COMPUTERS SAYS “NO” THE COMPUTER SAYS “NO”, is very common with Insurers were lack of training and knowledge of the staff, and the push to follow company procedures provides the wrong outcome. The annoying thing with your claim was that I got it back on track, only for another numpty to take it the wrong course. Three times that happened! Frustrating was an understatement. Confronted with the law and the FCA regulations and a very big stick, finally they conceded and agreed they had handled incorrectly and poorly. Never forget, it is your car and your claim. Firstly, never let them control your asset..always keep the car in your control. Secondly, being educated is the key to a successful resolution. I am very happy we got the correctly resolution, and thank you for one of the Heads at Admiral that steered it back on track. Another cracking result!

I was getting absolutely no where with my insurance company and after 4 months of trying to sort my car I came across Tim. He spent a lot of time on this case and without Tim’s help this issue would still not be resolved. The case took a year to sort but I am finally back in a new car which is safe to drive. And what a Battle it has been! I have never in all my years come across a company as “inept” “unproffesional” and so full of “f@£kwittery” as Auxillis. To think they were “allegedly” acting on your behalf as a claimant in a non fault incident makes it even more concerning. Your car was “unsafe” “Improperly repaired” by their “approved repairer” who have now been forced into buying your old car from you. It was apparent Auxillis did not care in the slightest or have any concerns for your safety or in you being “re instated” to the same financial situation and reinstatement of your vehicle prior to the incident.

I was hesitant to engage with the insurer after my first ever car crash as I am aware of the reputation insurers have for fleecing customers. Luckily I came across Tim online and sent a message via the online form. He was prompt in answering my questions and giving me advise on the best route to take given the outcome I wanted. When I finally engaged with the insurer I was able to negotiate a payment for the full repair estimate as opposed to having my car written-off at a much reduced value. My success is down to being able to speak to the insurance company with confidence following Tim’s expert advice and information on Glass vehicle valuation for my car.

I was involved in a non-fault accident. The third party pulled out of a side turning – very slowly – and drove into my rear nearside door. His car stopped immediately but mine continued on for a few metres, causing his bumper to scrape across my rear wheel and bumper. I used Auxillis to sort out a hire car and get mine fixed at their approved repairer. The approved repairer massively overquoted the repair estimate (mainly by adding on unnecessary additional work) and the third party’s insurance company decided to write my vehicle off as a cat-N because the repair estimate was 68% of the current market value of my car. After speaking to Tim Kelly, I contacted Admiral Insurance and advised them that as my car is insured for the market value and not some percentage thereof, I expected them to get the car fully repaired. They refused. I again contacted Tim for advice; following this, I informed Admiral that if they left the car as a cat-N write-off I would sue them for breach of contract and interference of goods. They changed their tune very quickly! I collected my car from the approved repairer and took it to an independent garage who repaired my vehicle for £1500 less than the original estimate. Without Tim’s help and assistance I would have lost my car; he certainly knows his stuff and I can’t recommend him enough.

I was getting nowhere with my insurance claim – the Insurers refused to pay full repair costs, just wanting to Total Loss the car at lower than Market Value and offering a low Cash in Lieu settlement. With Tim’s help, advice and input the Cash in Lieu offer was increased to a more acceptable amount enabling the repairs to be carried out. I would highly recommend his services to anyone having difficulty getting a fair settlement from their Insurance Company.

When my son’s first car was damaged the insurance company were going to make no settlement at all. I knew this was unfair but I could not make any headway and came to dread contacting them. As a last resort I contacted Tim who took over the case and got the car valuation increased and some extra charges written off. A great result- only around 1k but in this case it was not just about the money but closure too. If I ever have any insurance problems in the future Tim will be my first port of call not a last resort!

MotorClaimGuru has recently assisted me in a dispute I had with my car insurance company over the category of my vehicle. My insurer exaggerated their assessment of the vehicle and classified it as a Cat B (total loss) despite it having very minor damage. In my attempt to challenge their decision I came across Tim at MotorClaimGuru and asked for his independent expertise. He undertook an assessment of my vehicle and established that my vehicle was indeed NOT a Category B, rather a Cat S at the very best. This makes all the difference as a cat S can be fixed and driven again but a cat B is never allowed on the road.
Based on his expert opinion, my insurer then agreed to re-classify the vehicle from a Cat B to Cat S which means I can repair the vehicle and drive it again. I need to mention that I am woman with zero experience when it comes to salvage categories or insurance disputes. Having never been involved in an accident before, I found the whole process with my insurer very daunting and had it not been for Tim I would have lost my beloved car to the scrapyard as I feel my insurer had no intention of acting on this from a non-bias perspective. Tim was extremely professional, explained the process and was very prompt in his approach. He essentially helped me recuperate my vehicle and I have no words to describe how happy that makes me feel. It’s only a small, older vehicle but extremely reliable and holds great sentimental value for me. I’m a nurse working all sorts of shifts and this car has never let me down so I’m extremely happy to get it back. It’s so important to have someone who holds the knowledge and expertise when it comes to motor insurance and Tim’s help was invaluable for me. Tim Kelly from Motor Claim Guru made the whole process of getting further payment from the insurance company very easy. They agreed to pay up the same day he contacted them. Before that, they kept telling us they had offered the ‘best’ they could and would only pay more if they were told to do so by the Financial Ombudsman.

So, if ever you or someone you know has issues with their insurance company it’s definitely worth getting in touch with Tim.

My pleasure, With this particular claim the bare minimum of service was given with a £20 fee for a value, However, as you experienced that did not mean you lacked in service. There was 14 Emails between ourselves that assisted you in a Positive resolution. I advised of my full fee’s, and that you would not feel the full benefit of them due the lower level of increase in valuation I expected. I love happy customers , and forcing insurers to do the “right thing”.

I contacted Tim after my beloved Morris Minor was stolen. We had it insured for the cost, £7,000, but the insurance company only offered us £4,000. It seemed really unfair. Not only was that not the value of the car, but over the years, the insurance company had happily taken premiums valuing the car at that higher price. Luckily, I found Tim online and with his help and experience, we challenged the award. He told me what evidence to gather and took over all the contact with the insurance company, meaning I didn’t need to have any of those frustrating discussions. That was worth the fee alone! When they raised their offer to £6,000 he convinced me to fight on and take the claim to the Ombudsman, who eventually decided in our favour, awarding us £8,000. It took a while – not Tim’s fault – but the feeling that the faceless insurance company hadn’t got away with it was well worth the wait. I couldn’t recommend Motor Claim Guru more highly. This was Indeed a Battle and half.The insurer subcontracted their Engineering services to another company.When you have people acting as engineer’s that are not and also not qualified, It makes things ten times harder. We were indeed dealing with complete “Numpties”. For them to increase the value from £4k to £6k when I challenged them showed what lack of credibility they had. A fully evidenced Engineers report acting as “Expert Witness” stuck the nail in their coffin. It was indeed my report that the “Ombudsman” found more compelling that that provided by the Insurer. The arrogance of Sabre Insurance was however “outstanding”. When advised by the Adjudicator at the FOS, they refused and challenged the decision forcing it to an Ombudsman. The insurer was now forced to pay interest at 8% on the increased amount over the time period. It certainly “pays” to appoint Motorclaimguru!

I contacted the Motorclaimguru to assist with a claim against Liverpool Victoria for a claim after my car was written off. The original offer was for £16k. By the time the matter finally settled, the offer was £30k and LV caved in completely. The expert report prepared was absolutely fantastic, detailed, well researched. I am a QC and deal with expert reports every day. This one would have stood up to any cross examination if a court case went ahead. LV tried to argue with it, but Tim phoned them up, and they caved in completely. To be honest, I would have taken £25k, but he got them over the line spectacularly. Quick response time, excellent value, highly professional and I would totally recommend Motorclaimguru for any motor claim. Well done and thank you so much. A superb service!!!!

Absolutely my pleasure, Always best to determine the best path forwards, with yourself, this was a detailed valuation report rather than my consultancy services. An Expert Witness Specialist valuation report to CPR35 standards is a powerful tool. I would have valued the vehicle at £30k irrespective as to who instructed me. It does show quite how far adrift insurers can be when valuing vehicles. It pays to get a professional in.

LAND ROVER DEFENDER UNDERVALUED BY DIRECT LINE – We were devastated when our Land Rover Defender was stolen from our home, and we were even more devastated when Direct Line’s appointed Engineer (UK Claims) initially valued the vehicle at less than HALF what it would cost us to replace the vehicle with one of similar mileage, age, condition etc. When I challenged their valuation they did increase their offer twice, but it was still nowhere near what we needed to be able to replace the stolen vehicle as per the terms of our insurance. Tim’s prompt and professional service was invaluable as within an hour he accessed a CAZANA report which showed the retail value of the car – this was a guide that the Engineers hadn’t used. We put this information (and name dropped Tim) to Direct Line and their Engineer and within hours they significantly increased their offer. This cost just £50 and Tim has also provided us with advice regarding progressing the complaint to the FOS ourselves to try and achieve even closer to the actual cost of a replacement vehicle. If you are struggling to achieve a fair insurance valuation for a car which is ‘hard to value’ (as Defenders notoriously are) I cannot recommend Tim highly enough. Also he did not try and sell us additional services or give us false hope about what we could expect as the outcome. Thank you to Tim and good luck to anybody that finds themselves in a similar situation!

When your insurer advises you are incorrectly insured as you have not insured yourself for commuting,and you are liable for the damages to the others parties vehicle, it could have been a very expensive day. I love “educating” insurers on the basis of the contract, and they cannot deny a claim when you were not commuting at the time. Great result, when you force the insurer to overturn the decision. Glad you instructed me to get involved, and show them that their decision was wrong.

I can’t praise Tim enough! He fought for me, when I was a year in and being completely taken advantage of by the insurance company that I will never use again.

I was being ignored and mistreated, the insurance company had incorrectly written my car off and the issue had gone on for months. I found Motor Claim Guru, and encouraged by my Dad, I contacted Tim with the details of my claim. Tim immediately put me at ease and gave me confidence that I had a chance to have things put right.

Tim is extremely knowledgeable and when he put details of my case on his forum, many industry professionals were pessimistic about my chances of success. Despite this, Tim pursued the case for over a year, finally taking it all the way to the Ombudsman. Even when the Ombudsman found in my favour, the insurance company disputed their findings and Tim again reassured me through the review process.

I succeeded in getting a cheque for compensation from the insurance company and having my car recategorised so I can drive it again.

Tim’s assistance was invaluable and he has made me realise there is no reason to let unscrupulous insurance companies get the better of you. For a very low fee, he offers expertise and comprehensive assistance.
